Professional development pathways for telemedicine clinicians
As telemedicine continues to evolve, ongoing education and specialization can help expand clinical confidence, open new opportunities, and support providers as they shape their own professional direction. Whether you are joining telemedicine platforms or building your own private practice, additional training in an area of interest can strengthen both your skill set and your professional positioning.

This page highlights professional organizations and educational programs that I believe offer valuable learning opportunities for providers. Some are programs I’ve explored personally, while others are resources widely respected within the medical community and worth considering as you grow your clinical expertise.
OMA - Obesity Medicine Association

10% off membership & Annual Meeting registration
Professional Organization & Certification Pathway
In my opinion, the Obesity Medicine Association is one of the strongest organizations for providers practicing medical weight management. Membership provides access to comprehensive clinical guidelines, patient education resources, and a supportive community of clinicians in obesity medicine.

OMA also offers a certification pathway for providers who want to further demonstrate specialized training. Whether you pursue certification or membership alone, the educational resources available are extremely valuable — especially for providers building or expanding a weight loss practice.
HRT University
Provider Training in Hormone Replacement Therapy

HRT University is a provider-designed educational program focused on helping medical professionals build confidence in prescribing hormone replacement therapy while integrating advanced hormone care into clinical practice.

I’ve had the opportunity to connect directly with Nico, the founder of HRT University, and receive a behind-the-scenes look at the program structure and materials. The course is extremely comprehensive and built specifically for practicing providers looking to expand into hormone optimization and HRT care.

While I have not personally completed the program, the depth of education and resources offered makes it a strong option for providers interested in exploring this area further.
The Menopause Society (formerly the North American Menopause Society)
